EPIC Welcomes Jeff Ellis, E.I.T. as Director of Operations

EPIC is proud to welcome Jeff Ellis, E.I.T. as our new Director of Operations.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Minor in Business Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. After obtaining his Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification, he began his career in site development design and construction management before transitioning into special inspections in 2015.

Over the past decade, Jeff has built a strong reputation in New York City's construction industry. His career has progressed from Cost Engineer to Director of Business Development, Senior RFP Manager, and now Director of Operations at EPIC. During that time, he helped develop proposals and inspection programs for more than 1,000 projects across commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, institutional, and government sectors.

Jeff's experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the project lifecycle. He recognizes that successful special inspection programs begin long before inspectors arrive on site, requiring a well-defined scope, realistic staffing plan, and clear communication to keep projects compliant, on schedule, and within budget.

He has extensive experience with Support of Excavation (SOE), foundation, structural, material testing, MEP, and architectural inspections, along with deep knowledge of NYC Department of Buildings requirements, including TR1 and TR8 compliance procedures. Throughout his career, Jeff has worked closely with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and expeditors to navigate complex project requirements and avoid costly surprises.

As Director of Operations, Jeff oversees proposal development, staffing and scheduling, business development initiatives, and daily operations. He also plays a key role in maintaining EPIC's Class 1 Special Inspection Agency accreditation and supporting the company's continued growth.

"I've always enjoyed helping clients solve problems and find practical solutions," Jeff says. "My goal is to make the inspection process as smooth as possible while providing the responsiveness and expertise our clients expect."
